We are proud to announce that Emico has now achieved over 2 million working hours without a RIDDOR accident - a fantastic milestone! The timeframe is the equivalent to 1000 accident free days and represents a significant milestone for the company. Approximately 2,033,872 working hours has been reached at the end of October 2020.
This result has been achieved by all our staff demonstrating their consistent commitment to Health & Safety across our projects and offices.
John Barry, Group Managing Director said:
“It’s a significant achievement from all within the company and shows how focussed we all are on Health & Safety across our entire business. This success has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of the teams who have adopted an open safety culture which promotes the reporting of Good Call / Close Calls and the swift rectification of any matters that could potentially result in harm to the workforce and the environments in which we operate.
However, as a company we always strive for more and although we have reached this milestone, we must continue to improve our working practices. We will continue to look at trends, so we constantly evolve, learn lessons and maintain our performance so that we achieve a further 1,000,000 accident free hours.
I am positive that our teams will continue to show their positive behaviour towards safety and hit the next milestone – 3 million work hours!”
We would like to thank everyone and encourage all to continue to work together to remain safe in everything that we do.
Achieving the highest standards of Health & Safety remains a top priority for Emico and the further development of the framework of policies, principles will assist in ensuring the safety of all stakeholders.
A RIDDOR is an accident or incident that is serious (according to strict government criteria) that must be reported to the Health & Safety Executive.
