Policy, Permits and Procedures

Policy, Permits and Procedures is "Agreed safe ways of doing things. It consists of instructions and related information needed to help carry out tasks safely". They:

  • Provide a roadmap for day-to-day operations and give guidance for decision-making
  • Provide consistency and ensure staff understand their duties and responsibilities
  • Helps with legal compliance and in attaining certification standards
  • Installs confidence that risks have already been considered
  • Permits - Not just permission to work, but communicates how to work safely

Quality Policy - BS EN ISO 9001 - Emico's commitment to quality. We believe that everything we do should be done right first time.

Environmental Policy - ISO 14001 - Emico is dedicated to environmental sustainability. We seek methods to lessen our environmental impact eg: vehicle use tracking, paper/print tracking & recycling

Health & Safety Policy - BS OHSAS 18001 - Our Zero Harm Policy nurtures our safety culture where we believe everyone should work safely and go home safely

Drugs & Alchohol Policy: Zero tolerance to drugs & alcohol at work. Emico does offer an Employee Assistance Programme confidential helpline

Human factors, management of permit systems, objectives of the permit system, types of permits required, training and contents of the permits

Reviewed to accommodate incidents, accidents, new equipment or procedures. Best practice is a systematic approach to manage health & safety
