The event targeted students in Year 11 and Year 12 (ages 15-17) some of whom will be sitting their GCSEs in the summer. Each school had a 1 hour slot to walk round the fair and engage with the stands. Emico ran an activity titled ‘Challenging Stereotypes’ which involved matching people’s faces to their job role in order to challenge stereotypes that the students may hold about a person or job. The activity was very successful in engaging the students and showcasing some of the many roles involved in engineering, both in the office and operations, as well as highlighting that Emico are an inclusive organisation that employs people based on merit.
