Emico held a Family Fun Day on Friday 22 July 2022 at the Hemel Hempstead office. 10 children came into the office, and it is safe (thanks to Paul Vaughan - Head of HSEQ - and his presentation!) to say that the day was a tremendous success.
We want to take this opportunity to recognise those who went above and beyond to make the day special for the children. A big THANK YOU to the following colleagues who participated and supported the successful event.
- John Barry (Managing Director) who kicked the day off with a big welcome. The children were able to understand what we do as a business and the types of projects we work on.
- Paul Vaughan did a wonderful presentation that had the children identifying safe and unsafe activities and not forgetting his impressive assistant Alexis Grant (Quality Assistant) who helped with all the preparations.
- Matt Cunningham (Technical Director), David Burkhart (BIM Manager) and Aidan Cunningham (Trainee) interacted with the children and ran a fantastic and innovative design activity. The kids really enjoyed the activity and was their favourite. All 3 of the guys were patient and helpful.
- Accounts ran a great number and throwing game where they had to practice their maths!! Linda Simpson (Accounts Assistant) was the game host and engaged with the children in a supportive way. Might be a new career for Linda (Game show host!!!). The props devised by Shirley Stimpson (Accounts Manager) and Linda were very colourful and creative. The kids enjoyed knocking the cans down and adding up the numbers.
- Trevor Stimpson (Store & Plant Manager blew up all the Emico branded balloons, in between carrying out PAT testing in the office!! The mighty puff!!!
- Procurement organised a great game which also involved counting money, purchasing prizes, and using their earnt ‘money.’ De-Ann Dale (Procurement Coordinator) and Paresh Bhudia (Purchaser) did a fantastic job keeping the kids entertained and engaged.
- Saleh Khaled (IT Helpdesk Admin) delivered a great session for IT. Even though he was slightly out of his comfort zone, he took this in his stride, and he carried out the matching words to pictures activity really well.
- Guv Sandhu (HR Director) delivered the activity for HR using Jenga blocks and got on great with all the kids and made them all feel really welcome. He kept them extremely entertained during their lunchtime.
Thank you to all our colleagues for bringing their kids in to participate in the day. It was such a rewarding experience for both the children and those who supported the event.
A wonderful event, and something we will certainly do again!
